Burning them well

On the first burn, let the wax melt right out to the glass — soy wax sets a memory from its first melt pool, and stopping early causes tunnelling for the life of the candle. Trim wicks to about 5 mm before each use, and keep the candles out of direct sunlight so the colours in the glass stay true.
